Our goal is to expand the institutional ethos and commitment to the scholarship of teaching and learning at Rutgers by strengthening the bridges between all participants in the University community who are involved in and committed to the advancement of teaching: faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, part-time (adjunct) lecturers, and administrators. Specifically, we wish to create new initiatives to: Advance TA understanding of teaching methodologies; Develop specific programs for postdocs on the scholarship of teaching and learning; Prepare future faculty through institutional partnerships, career programs, and conferences; Introduce new assistant professors to approaches to teaching at Rutgers and strengthen classroom and mentoring skills of experienced faculty members; Strengthen campus-wide assessment to identify and document the outcomes of our initiatives pertaining to pedagogy.
